Why Native Plants?

Native plants provide important resources for a host of wildlife species, including beneficial native pollinators such as monarch butterflies, even when planted in a garden in the back yard. Planted together as a community of prairie, savanna or wetland, native plants provide critical habitat, build soils, improve water quality, and beautify the landscape.
